The Poncha is a personal, independent and non-profit project created by someone who loves poncha and the island of Madeira.
It began with photos and ratings of ponchas shared on Instagram. People joined the conversation and the idea soon became obvious: Madeira needed a map where anyone could discover, compare and rate ponchas across the island.
We want to find the best poncha in Madeira. But the journey matters as much as the final ranking: promoting traditional taverns, small bars and lesser-known places that rarely appear in tourist guides, even though they deserve to be discovered.
